additional distro packages for Linux users

Hi everyone,

For the upcoming HP release I would like provide specific guidance for
Linux users on which additional distro packages they should install.

For example, for Ubuntu 14.04 it seems that you need the packages
zlib1g-dev,libgmp10-dev, and freeglut3.

So if you have recommendations for specific flavors and versions of Linux
I'd love to hear from you!
