using the linux tarball HP on Fedora

Hi all,

For kicks I built the 7.10.2 pre-release linux tar-ball distribution of the
Platform on a Ubuntu 14.04 system and then installed it on a Fedora 22 box
and it seemed to work. At least I was able to build pandoc-1.14.0.4 without
any major problems. The only issues I ran into were from missing libraries
and header files.

Question 1... Can anyone think of any reasons why this wouldn't work in
general? Are there other tests I should perform to make sure the HP is
working on my Fedora box?

Question 2... The yum commands I had to use to get things to work were:

  yum groupinstall 'Development Tools'
  yum install gmp-devel zlib-devel freeglut-devel

Does this correlate to other people's experiences on Fedora?
