Comment:

 > The haskell platform 2010 as well as 2011 comes with MinGW+MSYS, as far
 as I can tell.

 It comes with MinGW, but not MSYS (so you need to install MSYS if you want
 to run shell scripts such as `configure`). Local MinGW installation lives
 in $PLATFORMDIR/mingw, but is not added to PATH by default (which is
 intended, so as not to conflict with system MinGW).
